About Sueños del Sur
“Sueños del Sur” is a story about the four children of the family Martínez Gómez from a small coastal city in southern Chile, mostly between the years 1994 and 1998. It's a story I've been written during the same period of time, in the shape of an unauthorized biography made up of tons of seemingly-random doodles in my notebooks. Since 1999, I've been collecting all those scribbles and trying to make up something coherent from it.
I think I should no longer keep this story to myself, and since this is likely to be a total failure if I ever got to publish it in printed form, I've decided to start posting it on the Web.
About the author
My name is Luis Alejandro González Miranda. I was born on January 30, 1978, in Santiago, Chile.
I began to write Sueños del Sur in February 1994. I remember that one night I had a very strange dream, in which I dreamed that I was living in another house, with another family, in another city. I don't remember the exact details, but that day I made a drawing of the children that I saw in my dream, and wrote their names. The appearance of Hugo, Rosa, Eliana and Pedro remains almost intact to this day.
